2008 bull calves and 2009 private treaty offering:
The bull calves were run this summer (2008) in the commercial herd with no creep feed and when weaned on October 18th had a weaning weight average of 631 pounds on 28 bulls.
The group is composed of AI sired calves and Embryo Transfer calves as well as a few bull bred natural calves out of strong cows. The embryo transfer calves are the product of flushes from our top producing, proven cows as well as cows selected out of the heart of the heard at McCumber Angus Ranch (Rolette ND) and Connelly Angus Ranch (Valier MT).
On our 'Mail Box' page on the left side bar is a complete listing of all of our private treaty bulls in this 2009 offering. As of 3/25/09, there are 25 yearlings left in the test pen, 4 two year olds and 1 three year old. The bulls that are sold are indicated by their information being grayed out on the datasheet. The yearlings will be weaned off test between March 28th and April 4th and have their breeding soundness exams and carcass ultrasound data collected shortly after that. The four two year olds that we used on our own cows last year that are still available have been trichomoniasis tested and have had their breeding soundness exams in December 2008. The one three year old in the offering has only been used on our virgin heifers the last two years and he is a guaranteed calving ease bull. We have not helped a single heifer calve a '659' calf and the only reason he is for sale is because we have retained daughters of his in our replacement pen and we do not want him breeding his daughters.
The yearlings have again been developed at Pesek Farms at Alexander on a high roughage ration balanced for 2.75 ADG. The two year olds and three year old are at the ranch and have been on prairie hay and alfalfa this fall and winter.
If you have any questions on our data sheet or would like more information on either the sire or dam of any of the bulls, please call any time. Pete can be reached at (701) 570-6959 or Vawnita at (701) 226-0305 or you can try our home / office phone at (701) 842-4865.
Please see the 2008 Private Treaty bull Offering and the March 2009 bull letter attachments on the 'Mail Box' page to see individual data on the bulls and our guarantee to our bull buyers.
